Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have
arrested two persons, Azuka Emmanuel (55) and Ndubuisi Okafor (23), with
drugs worth over N2.5 billion trying to move through Cross River State.
The
state NDLEA Director, Mrs. Anthonia Edeh, who made this disclosure in
Calabar, said Azuka and Ndubuisi were arrested on the Yahe-Ikom
transnational route with 76.050 kilograms of methamphetamine and 100.1kg
of ephedrine worth N2.5 billion.
The baron and his boy were busted during unexpected “stop-and-search” by NDLEA officials.
The director also explained that the
methamphetamine was concealed in synthetic Golden Morn cereal packs
while the ephedrine was hidden inside Semovita packs and five industrial
fillers. She commended officers of the command for their gallantry.
NDLEA continues to “demystify the activities of drug merchants”.
