Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker Impeached

The speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh Lawal has been impeached. Also said to have been swept away along with the Speaker were the Majority Leader, Kolawole Matthew and Deputy Speaker, Alih Ajuh.

The “new” Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Friday Sani said Speaker Lawal was impeached because he was running the House like a sole proprietor. But he has vowed to fight on.

The embattled Speaker, Momoh Lawal whose two previous impeachment has remained inconclusive said the development is a ‘Kangaroo’ arrangement that can not pass under a sane democratic atmosphere.

So, will the "impeached" speaker vacate office or not? We are watching the developments in Kogi.
