31 people have been quarantined in Ondo State after two
people were confirmed dead from Lassa fever in the state. The Commissioner for
Health, Dayo Adeyanju, announced this today as he went from one Local
Government to another with State health workers to enlighten indigenes on the
deadly virus.
Adeyanju said the 31 persons are those that had contact with
the late victims.
He revealed that the outbreak control team at local
governments had been activated, while emergency lines and other sensitization
measures were available to the media in order to enlighten the public.
He also urged the public on the need to maintain hygienic
environment at all times,
