St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Abajah Local Government Area, Imo state is set to unveil a 28-foot statue of Jesus Christ on New Year’s Day. The statue, named Jesus de Greatest, was donated by a member of the church, Obinna Onuoha and is the largest christian figure in Africa. A statement by the donor’s representative said the project has taken two years to complete and has reached its final stages. It is said to weigh 40 tonnes and made of marble.
