A car belonging to the Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, was shot at last week Friday by unknown gunmen.
Although none of the occupants of the vehicle was hit, our
correspondent gathered that three shots were fired at the car by the yet
to be identified assailants.
It was learnt that the incident happened at about 10.30pm on the fateful night and the case has been reported to the police.
A source told one of our correspondents that the assailants had targeted the minister but failed.
The source, who pleaded not to be named, said: “The time of the
attack will let you know that it was planned to assassinate the
minister, but they failed. Her Escalade car with registration FST914BL
was shot at but she was not in it. Thank God nobody was hurt.
“I wonder why the minister is still being targeted despite the barrage
of genuine and false allegations that has been levelled against her for
months.”
When contacted, the Special Assistant to the Minister on Media, Mr.
Joe Obi, confirmed the incident to one of our correspondent.
He said: “You said you heard that the minister’s car was shot at,
right? Of course that is true and it happened last Friday at about
10.30pm. Three bullets were fired and it was one that hit the car. We
have reported the matter to the police and I guess the police is
establishing the true situation about the incident."
